Abigail Hamilton, Counseling Intern

Hi there and welcome to My Therapy Connection! My name is Abigail Hamilton and I am a Masters Level Intern working towards completing my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Rowan University. Helping others work through the long journey of life has always been a huge passion of mine, and I like to approach my work with individuals as a partnership.

Life can be challenging, and I view it as a great privilege to have the opportunity to help people.

If working through anxiety, school life, or general life struggles is something you’re interested in, we would be a great fit! In my practice, I believe that clients deserve a voice, and that treatment is not one-size-fits-all. As we go through your journey together, I believe in tailoring treatment to be as effective as possible for you! I also believe in being a safe space for everyone – regardless of your age, gender identity, orientation, culture, background, or struggles.

I have been described by peers and previous coworkers as easy to talk to, genuine, relatable, and trustworthy. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Stockton University and am in my final year of my master’s program at Rowan University.  I will graduate in 2025!

Outside of work, I am family-oriented and a huge lover of animals. I love going on walks with my cat, sitting down with a good book, and spending time with friends and family. I love the Fall season because of the beautiful colors and Autumn atmosphere. I find self-care to be very important, so I take as much time as I can to practice what I encourage others to do!
