    Marc Broadbent, M.Ed., LAC

Hello and welcome to My Therapy Connection™! My name is Marc Broadbent and I am a Licensed Associate Counselor in New Jersey and a Certified School Counselor in Philadelphia. Additionally, I have coached Baseball, Cross Country, and Track holding certifications as an  National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Certified Interscholastic Coach.I work primarily with adolescents, teens, and young adults experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, and trauma.

Life transitions can be challenging to navigate, especially during your teenage and young adult years, and I am here to help guide you through them. Together, we will focus on the present to identify how factors such as relationships, school, work, athletics, cultural/spiritual beliefs, and

self-interpretation are impacting you both internally and externally. I believe mental wellness aligns with the “Ripple Effect’’ in that your thoughts and decisions that impact one aspect of your life will reach out and impact others.

“If you must look back, do so forgivingly. If you must look forward, do so prayerfully. However, the wisest thing you can do is to be present in the present. Gratefully. —Maya Angelou”

I believe that therapy has to fit you like your favorite pair of pants; you have to feel comfortable, confident, and safe. It is a tailored experience to you, specifically. Although we all have people in our lives who we feel comfortable opening up to; it’s difficult to find one person in your life who you truly can tell everything to. I plan on giving you a space to open up about all aspects of your life in a judgment-free atmosphere.

I graduated from Wilmington University in 2020 with a Masters in Education Counseling. I started my counseling career as a School Counselor in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia. While I was there, I Was also involved in many sports and afterschool programs. This experience allowed me to work with many children, families, and community members from various backgrounds. In 2023, I transitioned to a neighboring school where I am the Baseball, Cross Country, and Track coach. In July of 2024, I was Licensed as an Associate Counselor to further pursue my passion of supporting young people as they navigate their way into adulthood and beyond.

When I am not working I enjoy spending my time running, going to the gym, reading, watching/playing sports, and most importantly spending time with my family. I try to train for at least one run a year and make it a goal to try and beat my time from the year before. My favorite books are autobiographies, motivational books, and fantasy novels. I am a huge fan of all Philadelphia sports and Ohio State football. I enjoy golfing with my dad, and I still participate in men’s league baseball organizations.

If you are interested in reaching out to inquire about therapy, or to see if I am the right fit for what you are looking for, please feel free to reach out for a free 10-minute consultation.

As a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) I am considered to be “pre-licensed,” which means that I require supervision to work toward full licensure. I work under the supervision of Vanessa Tortoreto, Certified Clinical Supervisor, NJ License # 44SC05773400

I look forward to working with you!
