My name is Jennifer Hess and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Clinical Supervisor at MTC. I have been practicing in New Jersey for over twenty years, providing therapy to adults, adolescents, children, couples and families. I have experience in various settings including outpatient, intensive outpatient, partial care, residential, foster care and in-community/in home settings. Through these experiences, I have worked with many populations from various walks of life.
I realize that sometimes life can seem overwhelming and difficult to navigate, but you have made the first step in reaching out. I believe in working in partnership with my clients to utilize their strengths to help them sort out their challenges and achieve their goals. I also realize how important it is to identify all aspects of an individual’s life that impact their well-being including their physical health, support systems (family, friends, etc.), work or school environment, and faith/spirituality in this process.
As a therapist, my goal is to create a safe environment for exploring clients’ primary interests, establishing goals, and identifying strengths and assets as they work towards their aspirations. I am committed to empowering my clients with the tools, training, and knowledge they need to perform optimally day in and day out. I am able to help my clients utilizing a variety of techniques and skills drawn from recognized therapeutic modalities including client-centered therapy, strengths-based therapy, Trauma Informed Care, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychoeducation, Play Therapy, behavior modification, and mindfulness and relaxation.

I began my educational journey when I graduated from Rowan University earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and then from Immaculata University earning a Master’s Degree in Counseling. I worked extensively with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, school/work issues, grief and loss, anger, and stress management.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family (including my pets), going on trips and vacations, gardening, cooking, biking and playing tennis.
If you are looking to work through trauma, manage your stress, overcome your anxiety or depression, address your feelings of grief and loss, improve your self-esteem, or improve your relationships, I hope you will reach out to me for a complimentary 10-minute consultation.
