Thank you for visiting My Therapy Connection™. My name is Julia and I am a Licensed Associate Counselor serving clients in South Jersey. I am passionate about helping teens and women who are struggling with anxiety, depression, loss, and relationship issues.
As you begin or return to therapy it can be daunting. You might not know where to start, or what to expect. I strive to create a nurturing environment so you can feel safe to navigate the struggles that you are experiencing. Together, we will face the uncertainty and start to work towards making the change that you want to see in your life. I use a multifaceted, individualized approach to therapy that utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques, Mindfulness based practices, and solution focused techniques.
“As therapists, we are in the business of freedom. We help people relinquish stories of self that are painful, stories of this moment that are alienating, and stories of the future that are limiting.” This quote from Ili Rivera Walter encapsulates my greatest desire when working with my clients. Together we will work to find healing, freedom, and hope for your future.”

I received my Master in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University, which holds one of the highest levels of accreditation out there. I am also a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). I have a background working with teens and women of all ages. Some of the specialized work I did was working with women of all ages who were faced with an unplanned pregnancy, dealing with pregnancy loss, in domestic violence situations, or in infidelity situations. I also worked with women who were participating in domestic adoptions. After this I spent time at a private practice where most of my clients were teens and young adults who were struggling with anxiety, depression, loss, LGBTQIA+ issues, and relationship difficulties. I have also spent time at a non-profit, state funded agency where I primarily worked with clients struggling with drug and alcohol addiction.
In my free time I enjoy being outside, going out for coffee, traveling, enjoying good food, going to the Jersey Shore, walking my dog, or reading a good book. Family is extremely important to me so the majority of my time away from the office is spent with those closest to me. I am also a big Philly sports fan and enjoy attending or watching games in the evening or on the weekends.
As a pre-licensed therapist, I work under the supervision of Vanessa Tortoreto, Certified Clinical Supervisor, NJ License No: 44SC05773400.
If you or your teen is unsure about therapy or have any further questions for me, please feel free to contact me for a complimentary 10-minute consultation. I look forward to meeting you and helping you start your journey to freedom, hope, and healing together!
