Thank you for visiting My Therapy Connection. My name is Julia and I am a Licensed Associate Counselor serving clients in New Jersey. I work primarily with teens and adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, OCD, and panic disorder.
While teenage years should be a carefree joyous time in life, it often gets overwhelming and leads to feelings of loneliness and confusion. The pressure of perfection is often fueled by social media, and this frequently leads to low self-esteem, body image issues, anxiety, and depression – all of which are areas that I am highly trained to address. The goal is for you to be well armed and ready to face any trials that may come your way as you are building your life. I hope you will find comfort in knowing that I want to provide you with a comfortable, safe, confidential space to work through whatever needs to be addressed.
Beyond the teenage years, and as we enter adulthood, some of the difficulties we experienced remain with us, or we have come face-to-face with a new set of challenges as we juggle jobs, relationships, finances, and various other commitments. The pressure to have it all together while also sorting through symptoms of anxiety, depression, panic, and an array of other problems can be overwhelming.
I am here to help you tackle these things so that you can live a more balanced and holistic life.

My background includes having a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Master’s Degree in Counseling from Thomas Jefferson University. I have a specialization in community and trauma counseling, and have experience working as a counselor with individuals of all ages. Additionally, I have worked one-on-one with children, adolescents, and young adults who are receiving therapy in the home, which is where I originally discovered my passion for working with young people.
Beyond my Master’s Degree, I attended training at “The Beck Institute” for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I completed a certificate training program in applied neuroscience for treating anxiety and panic; and completed the required training towards Certification in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I am currently working towards expanding my practice in the treatment of OCD by completing Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy training.
My focus at MTC is to support my clients during whatever it is they may need help with, and I feel proud that the feedback I get from my clients is that I make them feel “welcomed and accepted” no matter who they are or what they are going through.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with those closest to me. Whether it is going to the beach or walking my dog, I love being outdoors. To relax, I love listening to music, traveling, and I exercise regularly.
If you or your child is unsure about therapy, or if you would like to speak with me about your unique challenges, I welcome you to contact me for a complimentary 10-minute telephone consultation. I look forward to working with you!
I work under the supervision of Jillian Young, LPC, ACS License Number 37PC00441700.
