    Amber Seibert, Counseling Intern

Hello, and welcome to My Therapy Connection!  My name is Amber Seibert and I am currently a graduate student at Liberty University working to complete my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.  I am pursuing this degree and career because I believe that everyone deserves an opportunity for hope in their life, no matter the circumstances. I am excited to provide counseling services that support individuals in finding peace in their lives in new and meaningful ways. I will utilize an empathic approach to support you through your counseling journey.

My belief is that counseling should allow clients to feel safe and supported in making impactful changes. Are you anxious, depressed, or struggling to deal with life stressors? Change is possible.  My hope is that during our work together, you gain the skills, insight, and healing needed to propel forward leaving anything unhelpful behind.

Prior to beginning at Liberty University, I graduated from Wilmington University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, honors recognition Delta Epsilon Rho.  I also have extensive training and experience providing community services to parents and families in need, especially focusing on mindfulness and behavior modification.

I began my career in the mental health field working for the NJ Children’s System of Care (CSOC) supporting youth and families seeking therapy and behavioral health services. Most of my experience to date has focused on children, families, and parenting with therapeutic services in the community and in-home settings, where I provided front line support and guidance through difficult times or life transitions.

I most recently expanded my clinical setting and population to include more diverse and acute psychological needs.  I began working alongside psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers at a psychiatric hospital serving adolescents, adults, and geriatric clients.  This unique opportunity provided me with valuable knowledge and perspectives on many different facets of the human psyche.  This opportunity also gave me some exposure to those experiencing substance abuse challenges and dual diagnoses.  I also can’t forget to mention my fun fact, I was a co host to a radio show for about a year that focused on current events and parenting tips to go!

I grew up in and have remained close to the South Jersey area. In my time off, I enjoy camping, fishing and kayaking with family and friends. I also spend a lot of time on the sidelines of my kid’s sports cheering them on.  I enjoy reading and am a fan of the self-development genre.  I am hoping to continue to add to my collection of books and podcasts with time, so any good recommendations are welcomed!  I understand firsthand that struggle, loss, and hard times are a big part of life and sometimes we need help.  I look forward to being that help for you!
