Hello and welcome to My Therapy Connection! My name is Yvans Jazon and I have dedicated my life to helping individuals and couples. People say that they feel calm when they sit in my presence. I am described as a happy, strong, and caring person. I believe becoming a Licensed Associate Marriage & Family Therapist adds to my life’s first calling as a Pastor in the Catholic Church.

As a LAMFT, my goal is to help couples who are struggling; and to help couples find enjoyment in the blessings of marriage. I currently work with individuals, couples, and families who are struggling with trying to repair damaged relationships, improve communication and affection; and make sense of past trauma. Through my work as a priest, I have been blessed to have helped many individuals and couples have happier, healthier relationships. Being able to be a part of healing relationships has been one of my life’s greatest joys! If you would like to build a life, marriage and family that is thriving, you can count on me to be devoted to that cause.

If you decide to work with me, I can promise you that I hold no judgment about you or your past. You will be met with warmth and kindness. I am committed to helping you heal and grow. While conducting therapy, I draw on several theories, some being Solution Focused Therapy, The Gottman Method for Couples and Structural Family Therapy. In 2023 I completed Level 1 Training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. 

Now, a bit about my professional journey! I attended Catholic Schools throughout my childhood in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. After high school, I felt that God was calling me to become a priest. I left Haiti in 1999 and entered the Diocese of Camden to pursue my vocation to the priesthood. I attended Immaculate Conception Seminary where I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, and a Master’s Degree in Systematic Theology. After my ordination, I continued my studies and graduated with a combined Master’s Degree in Education and Post-Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy.

I am the Founder of Hand to Hand Mission to Haiti, Inc. My mission through this organization is to serve the families of Haiti, working with school children and families in very remote villages. We also provide school supplies and tuition for children; and work to provide reliable electricity in southern Haiti.

When I am not providing therapy or serving my church, my free time is spent watching and playing soccer; and I enjoy a good game of ping pong!

As a Licensed Associate Marriage & Family Therapist (LAMFT) I am “pre-licensed,” which means that I require supervision to work toward full licensure. I work under the supervision of Jillian Young, LPC, 37PC00441700, ACS License Number 1634.
